For Sarah

Although I'm missing Haven Blog conference this year for a very good reason, it makes me a sad to think of all the pretty faces I'm going to miss; blogging friends old and new.

When I first attended Haven in 2013 I was scared and intimidated by the crowd.  But there was one familiar face I recognized that made me feel more at ease.

Sarah, Thrifty Decor Chick stood behind the check in counter and greeted me with a smile and a cheery hello.  I immediately felt welcome and comfortable.

She is a constant source of inspiration for me.  She is super laid back and approachable, just like her style.

She shops at Target and Home Goods.  Proof that it doesn't have to be expensive to have a beautiful home.

While some aspects of blogging are still a mystery to me, Sarah's blog is like a breath of fresh air.

She creates.  She inspires others.  She leads by example.

Sarah, thank you for always being so nice.  Thank you for always being so helpful.

You never know who you are going to meet in life and the impact it may have on you.  A warm smile, sincere compliment or a genuine conversation can leave a long lasting impression.

  9. What a lovely post, Brandi. I often think the best thing about blogging, is the friends we make along the way. Ps...I have two of those fabrics behind you in my house! Of course they're red! ;-)

  16. Oh Brandi, I'm so glad you have a special friendship with your blog friend. This is a nice picture of you and Sarah. I love Home Goods, and I was just telling the girls that Target is the best, and that I always come home with goodies when I go there. We all have that one familiar face that we recognize that makes us feel more at ease, as you said. That is so true, and the way you said it is beautiful.

  19. You are so right, you don't need a lot of money to redo your home. I shop at Homegoods, TJ Maxx, and Target and love doing so. I've also done comparison shopping with them to get bigger companies to come down off their prices. This is such a beautiful post.
