Fiddle Leaf Fig

Yay!  Finally found one!  It's my new favorite plant.  I have longed for one of these pretty plants with large beautiful leaves since spotting it on Debbie's blog.

I was surprised to find one while browsing the garden center in Home Depot last week.  I purchased my plant for around $10. Apparently, that's a really great price.  Too bad there weren't others, I would've bought them all!

From what I've read they are relatively easy to care for.  I'm crossing my fingers hoping I can keep this plant alive.

  1. Great find and price! I would love to find one. Cassie (Hi Sugarplum) and Megan (Honey We're Home) both have large ones, and have said they are fairly easy to care for.

  2. That is a pretty plant Brandi. The leaves are really gorgeous. If it needs sun it would never make it in my dark house. Good luck with it, it looks really nice in your house.

  5. I have killed ALL of my house plants...maybe I get low maintenance confused with NO maintenance

  6. I'm sure you can keep it alive, Brandi. Very lush. I'm terrible with house plants. Maybe that's why I have so many dried flowers. lol

  9. Wow what a deal/steal. It's a ficus and they love bright indirect light and let it dry a little before watering. They don't especially like to be moved around-insecure I guess
:). The only way to kill it for sure is to over-water. Enjoy!

  11. Great plant! I'm looking for more plants that I can put in my living room. We just had to cut down a big tree out front, due to storm damage. So, I've got great light coming in now. I may have to put this one on my list!
