Adding Puffy Paint to Flower Pots

I was stuck in the house because of the rain and needed a simple project to entertain myself with.  I went into the garage and dug through my flower pot collection and decided to do something fun to these plain white pots I had.

I thought about spray painting them a fun color but instead decided to add a little character with puffy paint.  What I love most about using puffy paint is that once the paint dries on a hard surface it can easily be scraped off, should I get bored with my new designs.

For the first pot, I added stickers and dotted around each one. I filled in the empty spaces with more dots. Simple and easy!

I love the way it sparkles!

For the second pot I added stickers to create a scalloped edge.  Once the paint dried I removed the stickers and filled in the bottom half of the pot with more dots.

I was having so much fun with this, I decided to add puffy paint to a third pot I had in my stash.

As you can see from the pictures, I simply added larger dots of paint around the rim of the flower pot.

The dried pots are waterproof.

There are so many great uses for puffy paint. I have used it on glass and fabric with great results.

  4. What a great idea Brandi! I love how you used the stickers as a template. Genius! And the fact that you can scrape the paint off later means that the pots will never go out of style. Perfect! Have a great day.

  7. These are actually really cute. When I think of puffy paint I tend to think of T-shirts I painted as a child. These are much more sophisticate.

  13. So pretty! I like the scalloped pot the best! I love puffy paint. I used it to label my dry ingredient jars (flour, sugar, etc.). Your post has inspired me to get the paint back out and decorate some of our pots. Thanks for sharing.
