Semi-Homemade Nutella Frosting

Friends were headed over and I needed a quick dessert that I could make in very little time.  I settled on cupcakes.  I had all the ingredients on hand and saved myself from making a trip to the grocery store.

I started with a basic chocolate cake mix and doctored it up a bit, but the frosting was the star of the show.  I don't know about you, but I love Nutella.  My favorite way to eat Nutella is with a spoon straight from the jar!

One of my friends never had Nutella before.  A look of pure joy came over her face as she took her first bite.  Nutella has that kind of effect on people!

Ingredients
1 (16 ounce) can ready to spread milk chocolate frosting
1 (13 ounce) jar of Nutella spread
4 ounces of Cool Whip (thawed)

Directions
Combine ingredients using an electric mixer.  Beat until well blended.  Refrigerate for one hour, then slather it all over your cupcakes!

how simple was that! but your presentation made it look like alot more which is very artistic and caring. I never had nutella either, but one day will, I see it everywhere, I'm just NOT a sweets person...but I hear that reaction is what happens...lol

I have a jar of Nutella in my cupboard, NEVER opened! I have had it for several months! Those commercials got to me, but at last I have not tried it yet! I wonder if it is still good? I may open it this weekend because of YOU! Thanks!

Mmmmm, I love Nutella too! These look gorgeous, Brandi! But, just look at your 'slathering' - it's not slathered at all; your presentation is completely perfect! I might have been scared to eat them because they look so beautiful!

I've never had Nutella, either. I have seen the TV ads for it, but just never tried it. Great idea for frosting cupcakes, though! I'll bet the Cool Whip gives it that extra little "oomph!" that makes it super creamy and good!!!!!!! :-)

Good Afternoon Brandi, When my children were little they loved Nutella, they ate it on toast. They are much older now, but do you know they would love your recipe. I am going to pass it on to them. Have a good day, Daphne
