Spruce Up Your Doormat

My doormat had seen better days.  At one point it was a nice welcome mat to our home.  Now, it looks far less inviting.  Sure I could have tossed it and purchased something nicer, but I was convinced I could upgrade it with a can of spray paint.

Before spraying, I taped around the sides with painter's tape and placed an "A" in the center for our last name.

I covered the entire mat with spray paint and hoped for the best!

Not the greatest, but definitely better!  It was a nice start to a little outside Fall decorating.

My girl Bella, who normally doesn't like to be outside longer than to use the bathroom, came outside to join me.

While Princess slept comfortably!  Ah, the life!  Oh well...

I hope you guys are having a beautiful day!

Were you channeling me at Target today? I was looking at the door mats thinking "What can I do to make it 'mine'?". I love this!

What a great job you did refreshing the door mat. Your porch looks so festive and welcoming. I found you via Noelle's blog. I'm in GA also. A life-long resident. Hasn't the weather been gorgeous this weekend??

Looks good!
I need to photograph our doormat and see if you can give me any advice. I think it's only held together by a strand of rubber or so.

I can't believe how much better you made your door mat look. I never even consider mine and that's a shame. You are so creative! I love how you've decorated your home with love and those babies of yours are just precious. We need a dog. :)

How welcoming your porch looks! Great job on the mat...reminds me I must pull out the Hallowe'en mat I tried to paint last year. It's a disaster, but hoping to re-hab it someone!

Hi Brandi,

Way to extend the life of the mat, along with making it special with your initial! Well done. I love your flowers in the pots and on the ladder. And love the pictures of your dogs. :) Very sweet.

I hope you have a great week!

Oi Brandi!

Love the doormat idea! I just found your blog on Sew Many Ways linkup. I can't wait to go through and see some of your older posts. I have a fashion doll blog where I tell stories, and build sets, etc. So I'm always looking for great ideas to incorporate in their world.
